The True North has plenty to offer when it comes to home care conferences! While the United States might be a larger market, American agencies shouldn’t overlook Canada as a source of professional growth, industry updates, and plenty of fruitful networking. Proactively seeking to understand other countries’ approaches and experiences is an important part of remaining agile, and few events are more insight-rich than an industry conference.
If you’re looking to get some professional development on the calendar, here are a few you won’t want to miss!
Themes & Topics to Expect at 2025 Conferences
Different country, same situation. Home care agencies on either side of the border are subject to similar challenges. A few key focal points are set to be discussed at 2025–2026 home care conferences, including policy updates, technology integration, aging population trends, and equity and inclusion, with an emphasis on practical workshops to deliver key takeaways.
These sessions directly support home care agencies and professionals, enriching their experience through applied exercises and plenty of exchanges with peers. The best way to learn and absorb new insights is to approach each conference with curiosity: start conversations, raise your hand, say “yes” to invitations, and keep an open mind. You never know where each new connection will lead.
The Biggest Home Care Conferences of 2025
It’s not always easy to identify which conferences are worth the plane ticket! These events are among the largest, most well-attended, and most well-rounded in Canada, giving American agencies a golden opportunity to learn from their neighbors to the north.
2025 CERAH Conference
On October 2nd and 3rd, the Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health (CERAH) will be holding its inaugural conference in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The event will unite specialists, clinicians, researchers, students, and community members to share knowledge and collaborate across four key areas: aging in place, dementia and seniors’ mental health, Indigenous peoples’ health and aging, and palliative care.
Due to its relatively northern location – one that’s beautiful to visit in the fall – Thunder Bay is an especially valuable gateway to knowledge associated with Indigenous topics. Local voices play a central role throughout the conference: attendees will have many opportunities to hear from community elders, learn more about on-the-ground realities, and dive deep into inclusion, diversity, and cultural sensitivity.
CommunityConnect Home & Community Care Conference
At the tail end of October, from the 22nd to the 23rd, the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA) will be hosting in another area of Ontario. Markham is a city in the Greater Toronto Area and home to the CommunityConnect Home & Community Care Conference: a prime opportunity for cross-sector networking and soaking up poignant thought leadership. As a bonus, the AxisCare team will be in attendance!
On the heels of last year’s sold-out conference, the 2025 edition is set to cover topics like regulatory outlooks, equity and inclusion, and budding innovations that will shape the future of home and community care. There will also be workshops available for a variety of home care roles, from board members and executives to HR professionals. These hands-on events dig deep into more granular topics, including social prescribing, AI, and providing cultural meals through Meals on Wheels.
Older Adult Centres Association of Ontario Aging Well Conference
In a different corner of the GTA, OACAO’s annual Aging Well Conference will be taking place in Mississauga from November 2nd to 4th. This year’s theme: Embrace challenge. Inspire change.
This event unites leaders and professionals supporting older adults across Ontario through a number of enriching activities. Workshops, practical breakout sessions, plenty of networking opportunities, evening entertainment, and even a French-language session make this a truly well-rounded home care conference. The trade show portion of the conference takes place on the 3rd, giving exhibitors the chance to showcase their services and share their experiences with industry peers.
Canadian Caregiving Summit
This Ontario summit will take you to Canada’s beautiful and history-rich capital, Ottawa! We’d even argue it’s worth extending your visit by a day or two to get a lay of the land, visit Parliament, have a few great meals, and brush up on some Canadian history. If you can’t make it in-person, this conference also offers an online attendance option.
On November 3rd and 4th, the Canadian Caregiving Summit unites caregivers, care providers, systems leaders, policy makers, and researchers across the aging, disability and healthcare communities. Following the release of A National Caregiving Strategy – a policy roadmap to address pressing challenges experienced by caregivers, providers, and clients nationwide – this year’s event will be particularly enlightening for home care decision-makers. Canada and the US are up against many of the same obstacles, and American agencies will come away with plenty of actionable insights for a brighter future.
Spark Home & Community Care Conference
Hosted at a Hilton property connected to the Toronto Pearson airport, this home care conference is an accessibility breeze for visitors. As a hybrid event, there is also a virtual attendance option. On March 26th and 27th, 2026, participants from home care agencies, community health providers, and allied organizations will be rallying around the cause of strengthening care across Canada (which is, of course, broadly applicable to the US market).
On the docket, you’ll find thought-provoking keynote speeches, real-world case studies, and interactive peer discussions. These exchanges will cover a wide range of topics, from digital home care and virtual monitoring to collaborating with family caregivers and building a sustainable workforce. With plenty of emphasis on knowledge exchange, attendees can also expect abundant networking opportunities.
Plan for Canadian Conferences Effectively With AxisCare
All of these home care conferences have something unique to offer. On our end, we’ll be heading to the CommunityConnect Home & Community Care Conference at the end of October in Markham. If you’ll be attending as well, let’s connect!
